In March 2022, the EU Commission presented a draft for a new Ecodesign Regulation for discussion. It is to be applied to potentially all products - with a few exceptions. The criteria are not just about energy efficiency, as has been the case up to now, but above all about the requirements of a circular economy, such as recyclability and reparability. The BDI supports the project and makes concrete proposals for improvement.
