The European Parliament’s ITRE committee adopted its position on the NIS 2 Directive in October 2021. The NIS 2 aims at enhancing the EU’s cyber-resilience by requiring essential and important entities to implement cybersecurity measures and reporting cyber incidents. BDI appreciates the diligent work done by ITRE rapporteur Bart Groothuis. Nonetheless, he sees the need for far-reaching amendments, e.g. concerning scope, reporting and fines.
