Research and innovation are key drivers of job creation, economic growth and competitiveness in Europe. The upcoming European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation 9 „Horizon Europe“ (FP9) will be running from 2021 to 2027. With a budget of around 100 billion Euros, it will be the world’s largest research and innovation programme. This paper lays out German industry’s recommendations for a courageous, industry-driven and impact-oriented research and innovation programme.
