Globalization and the integration of German companies into world markets continue to advance. For this reason, it is increasingly important for our economy that the Federal Government pursues an active foreign economic policy. German companies can enjoy global success only if they are able to prove their innovative strength and performance by competing freely in foreign markets. Thus, shaping globalization remains one of the main tasks of German policymakers in this election year and beyond. We take a look at the challenges for the next federal government and for the Bundestag in the area of foreign economic policy. Ahead of the election, we want to make recommendations for policymakers from the perspective of German industry.
