His research focuses on the epidemiology and control of communicable diseases in sub-Saharan Africa—particularly in Ghana, Tanzania, Madagascar, and São Tomé. His work focuses on poverty-related and neglected diseases in resource-poor areas, the establishment of health priorities, and the investigation of infectious agents and their transmission conditions.
