Matthias Mieves

Deputy Spokesperson for Health Policy

Matthias Mieves (Member of the Bundestag) has been a member of the German Bundestag since 2021, where he serves as deputy spokesperson for health policy and as chairman of the SPD parliamentary group. He is also an active member of the Committee on Health and the Committee on Digital Affairs and State Modernization, working to reduce bureaucracy and improve healthcare through digital innovations.

Before his term in the Bundestag, the graduate in business administration and English (University of Mannheim) spent about a decade in various leadership positions at Deutsche Telekom AG, most recently as Head of Innovation Portfolio & Investment Management. At the same time, he founded the company Sanabene GmbH in 2012, of which he remains a co-owner to this day. He supplemented his academic career with semesters abroad in Sydney and Lima, as well as a scholarship from the Hans Böckler Foundation. He has been active in the SPD since 2002 and is also a member of ver.di and Greenpeace.
