Due to the weak start to the year and the uncertainties caused by the war in Iran, the BDI expects manufacturing output to stagnate this year. There is a risk of a decline in output should disruptions to shipping continue for any length of time as a result of the conflict. Within the European Union, output is expected to rise only slightly this year, by 0.5 percent, due to the war.
