German-French High School in Freiburg; Institut d’Etudes Politiques, Paris; Columbia University, New York. Worked at the United Nations Development Fund for Women, the Bertelsmann Foundation, and the University of Mannheim. Earned a Ph.D. from the University of Mannheim in 2010 on the topic of the United Nations’ capacity for reform. Member of the European Parliament for Germany from July 2009 to October 2013.
Member of the German Bundestag since October 2013; December 2013 to September 2017 Spokesperson for Children’s and Family Policy for the Bündnis 90/Die Grünen parliamentary group; March 2014 to September 2017: Chair of the Subcommittee on Civilian Crisis Prevention, Conflict Management, and Networked Action; 2017 to October 2021: Spokesperson for European Policy and Parliamentary Secretary of the Bündnis 90/Die Grünen parliamentary group. Since December 2021: Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action.
Since November 2024, Co-Federal Chair of the Alliance 90/The Greens party.
