Henning Müller

Chairperson
Agrotech Valley Forum e.V.

Dr. Henning Müller (born in 1979) studied engineering physics at the University of Oldenburg after graduating from high school. Even while still a student, he worked as an innovation consultant in research and technology transfer at the intersection of business and science. He then completed a part-time training program to become a farmer. In 2007, Müller joined NieKE—the State Initiative for the Food Industry (now LI Food)—as an innovation consultant and earned his Ph.D. at the Institute for Structural Research and Planning in Intensive Agricultural Areas (ISPA) at the University of Vechta.

This was followed by a position at the German Institute of Food Technology (DIL) as a project manager. In 2013, Müller joined the Oldenburg Chamber of Crafts. There, he initially served as an innovation and technology officer (BIT) and QM auditor and eventually headed the Economic Development Department. From 2016 to 2022, Müller worked first as a product manager and, since 2017, as Technical Director (with sole power of attorney) at Josef Kotte Landtechnik GmbH & Co. KG. Since fall 2022, he has been a Senior Researcher at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) in Osnabrück. In this role, he played a key role in developing the AI Real-World Lab for Agriculture (RLA) project, one of Germany’s leading initiatives for the research, development, and testing of artificial intelligence (AI), data science methods, and robotics in agriculture.

Starting in January 2026, he will serve as project manager for the initiative. In connection with this, he has moved to the University of Osnabrück (UOS) but will continue to work at the DFKI.
