Alliance of Associations: The issue of “customer-owned facilities” must be made a political priority—both nationally and at the European level
The BDI, together with a broad-based alliance of associations, has spoken out in favor of retaining the customer-owned facilities regulation, which is currently governed by Section 3, Nos. 65 and 66 of the German Energy Industry Act (EnWG). We are seeking a solution at the European level. The Internal Market in Electricity Directive must be amended.
Electricity Security Platform: Launch in January 2026
The Federal Network Agency (BNetzA) has a legal obligation under the Energy Security Act (EnSiG) and intends to develop a tool for implementing load reduction measures via a digital communication platform. This tool is to be designated as the “Security Platform for Electricity” (SiPlaS) for the electricity sector, analogous to the system in the gas sector.
