Globally connected. Globally vulnerable. From submarine cables to satellites – The contribution of digital infrastructure to scaling solutions
Connectivity is central to our economy and society of the future. Sufficient bandwidth, low latency and resilience of digital networks are key to enabling industry to leverage the potential of important future technologies Digital business models associated with the Internet of Things (IoT), autonomous vehicles, AI and the industrial metaverse require such high-performance digital networks. The recently published EU Commission's White Paper is now providing important impulses to overcome the challenges the European telecommunications market faces today and to make the digital infrastructure of the future a reality. How can the infrastructure we are so reliant on be protected in the future? How does the regulatory framework have to be adapted to simplify and facilitate resilient and redundant networks? Which industrial use cases are already in place today that rely on those high-quality digital infrastructures? Our workshop takes a DeepDive into these questions and provides the participants with the possibility of discussing different aspects of the topic with experts from the fields of security, use cases and regulation.
