Optimising the Future. Cooperation and Advanced Technology for a World in Turmoil
Where there is light, there is also shadow: A new era unfolds, shaped by technological euphoria on the one hand, power-centric egoism on the other. Few areas are as directly affected by these global shifts as international cooperation. Drastic cuts in humanitarian aid pose an enormous challenge for public and private actors. At the same time, progress in artificial intelligence – such as satellite image analysis – and innovations in medical technology and the health economy are fueling hope for lasting progress. The outlook for people in the so-called Global South, as well as the future of the global peace and security architecture, will in part depend on whether we can unlock the full potential of innovation and cooperation. What should international cooperation look like in times like these?
