Renewable and CO₂-neutral fuels are the only option for extensive defossilisation in air and maritime transport in the long term. STIP must provide clear investment incentives and create competitive neutrality. Overall, however, the EU Commission's approach to date does not live up to its claim to present a strategic framework plan for all modes of transport.
