The federal government of Germany has developed the German Sustainability Strategy (DNS) in the form of an action plan. BDI contributed to the organized public consultation process by submitting a statement.

Since 2018, the German economy has shown little growth, while at the same time there is significant pressure to implement climate and transformation goals. The BDI is calling for the revision of the German Sustainability Strategy to be more closely linked to economic performance. From the association’s perspective, sustainability requires a solid foundation of investment, innovation, and international competitiveness.
