Lutz Zimmermann

Lutz is an economist and began his professional career in 1985 at Mercedes-Benz AG in the field of personnel development. In 1993, he moved to a large German construction group, where he headed the Executive Board office and the Human Resources department, before joining GIZ in 1999, where he took on several management positions. These include economic development in Nepal and GIZ's country directorate in Iraq. As Executive Director, he was responsible for GIZ's activities in the economic and employment sector. As Director-General, he was responsible for GIZ's business in Germany, Human Resources and, currently, Sector and Global Programs.
