    Selleen Sewpershad holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) Degree in Geological Sciences, with a specialization in Exploration and Economic Geology. She is a registered Natural Scientist with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP) and brings over a decade of experience across Southern, Central, and West Africa. Throughout her career, she has supported mining investors through early-stage exploration, project evaluations, geological assessments, and feasibility studies across a range of commodities.

    Selleen joined the Southern African-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 2022. As Head of the Competence Centre for Mining and Mineral Resources, she aligns her work with the objectives of the German Raw Materials Strategy. Her focus lies in promoting market transparency, building strategic networks, and strengthening cooperation within the mining sector of the Southern African Development Community (SADC). Her eRorts contribute to securing a stable and diversified raw material supply for German industry, while also facilitating the integration of German technologies, products, and services into the region.

    She oversees trade fair participation, coordinates a dedicated mining working group, and leads various initiatives including webinars, publications, business delegations, sector-specific events, and technical site visits. Selleen works closely with local Chambers of Mines, government agencies, industry experts, and private stakeholders. She also represents the Chamber at an international level through the German Mining and Resources Network and serves on the VDMA Africa Mining Steering Committee.
