Dr. Uwe Lauber studied mechanical and industrial engineering in Konstanz and St. Gallen and received his doctorate in mechanical engineering from the University of Kronstadt in 2009.

He is the Chairman of the VDMA Engines and Systems Association (since 2018), Chairman of the VDMA “Power-to-X for Applications” working group (since 2018) and a member of the German government's National Hydrogen Council (since 2020).
