Never Waste a Good Crisis – How Should Companies Handle a Fragmenting Global Economy?
Attacks on merchant ships, new customs conflicts and a sluggish global economy: there have been rosier times for international trade. In the past, globalisation has brought golden times to the German economy. Now the rules of the game seem to be changing: Trading partners are increasingly becoming rivals. It's all about geo-economic influence and scarce resources – instead of efficiency, it's resilience that counts. Is the global economy currently gravitating towards new trading blocs? Do we need a new initiative for trade and investment? How can companies increase their resilience in an environment of growing uncertainty and remain successful facing unfair trade practices?
