Samuel Mamou is the Director of Alliance NewSpace France, a non-profit representing over 50 space startups and SMEs employing 2,500 people — more than 10% of the national space workforce. He leads the Alliance’s advocacy with government, European institutions, and industry to strengthen competitiveness, industrialization, and financing for the NewSpace sector. From 2021 to 2023, he served as Deputy to the Space Counselor at the French Embassy in Washington D.C., fostering transatlantic space cooperation. He holds an MSc in Aerospace Engineering from ISAE-SUPAERO and a Master’s in Space and Telecommunications Law from Université Paris-Saclay.

    Whether it's Earth observation, space exploration, navigation, infrastructure in orbit, or dealing with space debris, international cooperation has long been an important driver in space travel. At the same time, geopolitical competition in space is increasing. A new space race has long since begun.
