In the fight against the climate crisis, the mobility of the future plays a crucial role. New mobility concepts are needed to reduce CO2 emissions. One solution for a better climate is hydrogen. In this interview, Michael Peter, CEO of Siemens Mobility, and Albrecht Neumann, CEO of Rolling Stock at Siemens Mobility, explain what the future of public transit looks like and why hydrogen technology plays a key role in it.

Through H2goesRail, Deutsche Bahn, DB Regio, and DB Energie—in collaboration with Siemens Mobility—are testing a new integrated hydrogen system consisting of a hydrogen-powered train and a hydrogen refueling system. The project was first unveiled in early May 2022 at the Siemens plant in Krefeld. For Deutsche Bahn, hydrogen trains are a key component on the path to climate neutrality by 2040.
