The EU’s aviation sector is a key industry for innovation, security and resilience—it ensures mobility, technological leadership, and climate protection. However, high costs and one-sided regulation threaten the industry’s competitiveness. Decisive measures are now required: fair operating conditions, the promotion of sustainable technologies, and the reduction of red tape to ensure Europe’s future in global competition!

The Digital Networks Act (DNA) presented an opportunity to introduce ambitious simplification and harmonisation, thereby significantly improving investment conditions and strengthening Europe’s overall competitiveness. While the commitment to deepening the single market is welcome, the proposal overall falls short of its own ambitions. Instead of fostering competitiveness and simplification, it introduces additional complexity, new obligations and further reporting requirements.

Die Bunderegierung muss den Luftverkehrsstandort im internationalen Wettbewerb stärken. Dazu sollte im ersten Schritt die im Koalitionsvertrag angekündigte Rücknahme der letzten Erhöhung der Luftverkehrsteuer vollständig umgesetzt werden. Weitere Entlastungsmaßnahmen sind erforderlich. Diese dürfen nicht zu Lasten der notwendigen Investitionen in andere Verkehrsträger erfolgen.
