China’s Data Security Law & cross-border data transfer
Since the enactment of the Chinese Cybersecurity Law in 2017, the Chinese state has developed an extensive regulatory framework on cybersecurity, data usage and data protection. Companies doing business in China and especially those generating data in China have to be compliant with these requirements.
In 2021, the Chinese Data Security Law has been enacted. The DSL regulates the protection and usage of personal and non-personal data by organisations in China. In our second session, Dr Camille Boullenois, Head of Brussels Office and Project Leader, Sinolytics GmbH, and Tiffany Wong, Head of Cybersecurity and Digital Policy, Sinolytics GmbH, will outline the main requirements the DSL entails as well as their implications for industry. The presentation will be followed by Q&A with our two experts.
